The exhibition features 41 drawings from collection of Alexander Kronik and 4 easel paintings from the collection of paintings Tsukanov Family Foundation. Chronologically, the exhibits cover the earliest period of the artist's work - from 1954 to 1966. Some of the graphic work is described by text written by Alexander Kronik from the words of Rabin. They will not only clarify the context and situation in which the artist worked in the 1950s and 60s, but also provide a comprehensive view of the origin and development of its iconography.
1950-60-ies - extremely interesting and important stage of creativity Rabin. By this time, his first experiences in the spirit of "Russian Pop Art" - with vodka, maps, road signs and signboards, self-portraits and portraits of his wife ( Valentina Kropiwnicki ), fellow artists, Lianozovskoe" landscapes "with barracks - in fact, at this moment Rabin defines its own plot register, gradually work out formal techniques by which becomes quickly recognizable. Then, in the 1950s and 60s, it becomes apparent the inevitable break with the Rabin official Soviet artistic life, his paintings and drawings are contrary to the ideal picture of socialist reality, and September 29, 1960 the authorities launched a campaign of harassment of the artist in the press, began her article " Priests' Midden number 8 "," published in "Moskovsky Komsomolets". The exhibition shows a graphical version of the "Midden number 8," and the beautiful work, about which the Soviet journalist wrote: «'s dark and dirty canvas ... You see some gnawed bones, something disgusting intertwined, some black spines . Fat ... just reading the words "Garbage number 8," learn "idea" and "content" of this truly schizophrenic "canvases" ».

As a result of this campaign, Rabin left the USSR , was stripped of his Soviet citizenship and, according to the artist, lived his "third life in Paris».
separate unit on display are paintings from the collection of Tsukanov Family Foundation, the process of "creating "which can literally be traced by considering the graphical sketches Rabin, they fit the whole" Lianozovo universe "who lived, it seems, in the parallel space is much more complete and real life than the aggressive Soviet world.
