Graduated from Kharkov Art College (1914-1918). Lived in Kharkov in 1919-1922 - in Vladikavkaz. He worked as a portraitist, landscape painter, created the paintings on the theme of Soviet life and industrial themes. Engaged in a poster (I contributed to the "windows KavROSTa"), book graphics, monumental painting (murals, panels).

maintained close contact with the young Moscow artists - graduates of the Higher Art. In early works (1920) went through a fascination with constructivism. Been influenced kubofuturisticheskoy group Union seven. In mid-1920 implemented a number of paintings on the theme of NEP.

taught in studios and workers' clubs Kharkov (1922-1924). He worked at the table orders "Agentizo" (1925-1928), painter in the newspapers "Communist," Komsomolets Ukrainy (1928-1933), the society "Oblhudozhnik» (1933-1941).

From 1916 - participant of exhibitions. Member and exponential associations "Art Workshop" (1919), the Association of Artists of Ukraine Chervonoyi (1927), the Association of contemporary artists of Ukraine. Participated in the exhibition "The artist today," Ukrainian commemorative exhibition marking the 10 anniversary of October (both - 1927) Exhibition Ukrainian Book Graphics (1929) in Kharkiv, the Second All-Ukrainian art exhibition Narcompros USSR (1929) in Odessa and others.

Since 1938 - Member of the Kharkiv branch of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. Held a solo exhibition in Kiev (1941). In 1946, presented at the exhibition of works on military-themed painting, depicting the flight of people from Kharkov on the eve of the city's capture by German troops, at the same time for "decadence" was expelled from the USSR Union of Artists.

Ivanova works are in several museum collections, among them - Kharkov Art Museum, State Museum of Ukrainian Art in Kiev, Odessa Art Museum and others.
